Schedule of Fees

Iron County Soil Erosion And Sediment Control Permits
Pursuant to Part 91, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control, of Act 451of the public Acts of 1994, as amended.

PERMIT FEES EFFECTIVE: JANUARY 1ST, 2014

ALL PERMITS ARE VAILD FOR 18 MONTHS

ALL PERMIT FEES INCLUDE 3 SITE VISITS AND THE MILEAGE FOR 3 SITE VISITS

SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL: $250.00 an acre of earth change (or fraction thereof)  $250.00 minimum          
SUBDIVISION/CONDOMINIUMS: $500.00 an acre of earth change (or fraction thereof)$500.00 minimum
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES: $300.00 minimum (less than 1 acre)
$375.00 an acre for (1-10 acres)
$325.00 an acre for (10-20 acres)
$300.00 an acre for (20-30 acres)                       $250.00 an acre for 30 or more acres)
TOPSOIL STRIPPING: $375.00/Acre of earth change (or fraction thereof) $375.00 minimum.
LOGGING: $150.00/Acre of earth change (or fraction thereof) $150.00 minimum.
MINING: $375.00/Acre of earth change
CONTINUAL USE FEES: $100.00/year (in addition to initial application fee)
PRE-REVIEW WITHOUT ACTUAL APPLICATION & FEE FOR CANCELED PROJECTS $50.00 per site (includes 1.5 hours staff time, and 20 miles
MILEAGE RATES:
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1st 2014
mileage 56.5 cents a mile

Note: A $50.00 fee per visit will be assessed for sites that require additional site visits. The fee will only be assessed for sites that require additional visits due to negligence by contractor/landowner.

l acre = 43,560 square feet. To calculate % of acre, take total square footage to be disturbed and divide by 43,560. The fee is then calculated by the acreage X cost per acre.

Bonding: A performance bond is required for all projects that will excavate or fill or 1000 cubic yards (27,000 cubic feet). The amount of the performance bond is $1500 per acre of disturbance. See application packet for more information. *Note: Sand/Gravel/Clay/Peat/Marl etc pits, landfills and stockpile yards are exempt from bonding requirements.
